How to DIY a Board + Batten Accent Wall During a 3
Got a 3-day weekend coming up? Sam Raimondi has a budget-friendly project that’ll dramatically change the look of any room in your home, and can be finished in just 3 days: a board and batten accent wall.
The DIY’er — who renovated her entire house while working full-time as a psychologist — shows you how to install one, here, step by step.
Sam says she made this project for her mom (shown in the pic and video), who lovingly refers to it as "the wall with all the squares on it.”
On Day 1, paint the wall whichever color you want and let it dry. For her mom's bedroom, Sam used a gorgeous "Dark Storm Cloud" color (below).
On Day 2, layout your design with painters’ tape. Start by attaching your vertical pieces with a nail gun, and then cut and attach the horizontal pieces. Sam uses spacer blocks to make sure everything is even. Then, add caulk and fill in nails.
On Day 3, spray paint the pieces the same color as the wall.
