Raising Cane's To Open Another South Jersey Restaurant

Feb 02, 2024Feb 02, 2024

DEPTFORD, NJ — Another location for Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers is set to fly into South Jersey. Deptford's Planning Board approved a location for the township, setting up the fast-food chain to open four eateries in South Jersey.

The Louisiana-based Raising Cane's has more than 600 locations, none of which are in New Jersey. But the restaurant previously received approval to open locations in Cherry Hill, Burlington Township and Marlton.

Following the Deptford Planning Board's Feb. 8 approval, Raising Cane's plans to open at the former Don Pablo’s Mexican Kitchen, which closed in June 2019 on 1860 Deptford Center Rd. It's not yet clear when the restaurant will open.

Constructing the restaurant will require demolishing the former Don Pablo's. The 3,605-square-foot Raising Cane's will feature two drive-thru lanes and a bypass lane on the 2-acre site.

Raising Cane's first opened in 1996 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The chain continues to expand, with plans to open 100 more restaurants in 2023.

Can't wait to try Raising Cane's? The chain has four Eastern Pennsylvania locations, including two in Philadelphia.
